Franz KafKabaret – Happy deathday, dear Franz
Unique site-specific theatre play celebrating famous Czech writer Franz Kafka. The performance inspired by Kafka’s life and work is inspired by german interwar cabaret it will be grotesque celebration of “deathday”. The performance tells the story of nomadic decadent cabaret society. Artists struggle every day for survival by trying to entertain the audience by transformation into a beetle, judicial proceedings or summer productions of Oklahoma. The production combines strong Kafka’s imagination, humor, absurdity and existential overlap . The director Martin Falář says: "In his books Kafka doesn’t offer an objective view of the world , but a metaphorical expression of his feelings and mental condition. His main topic is critical and absurd view at the society, performance will use the same absurdity when looking at Kafka. They want to present topics Kafka wasn’t paying attention such as love, joy of life and feeling happiness. Performance in English.
